QB Certification

ELTRACE and its Normandy-based WORLDTRACE manufacturing plant obtain QB 58 certification: a guarantee of quality for heating cables

Eltrace is proud to announce that its WORLDTRACE production plant located in Normandy, a manufacturer of self-regulating heating cables, has obtained QB 58 certification. This official recognition attests to the thermal performance and manufacturing quality of WORLDTRACE products. Issued by the CSTB (Scientific and Technical Center for Building), this certification represents a major step forward for players in the electric trace heating market.

QB 58 certification: a new standard for quality

Since 2024, the CSTB has implemented a specific standard, QB 58, to certify the performance of heating cables. This certification meets a strong demand in the sector, as heating cables are now classified as traditional heating cables and can no longer benefit from a Technical Assessment.

The QB 58 label guarantees that certified products meet a set of requirements defined by current European standards and offer additional performance with high added value.

Why choose QB 58 certified products?

QB 58 certification provides significant benefits for all stakeholders in the industry:

  • As a Manufacturer: the certification highlights the quality of our products and manufacturing processes through rigorous controls of our production unit and tests conducted by an independent laboratory.
  • For our Distributors: the certification provides us with a guarantee of quality to offer your customers reliable and high-performance technical solutions.
  • For Installers: they ensure the use of products that comply with industry standards, guaranteeing the reliability of installations.
  • For Specifiers: they can recommend products that comply with current regulatory requirements and the Unified Technical Documents (DTU).
  • For end users: they benefit from equipment tested and inspected for its reliability and durability.

QB 58 Certification Requirements

The QB 58 standard covers self-regulating and non-self-regulating heating cables intended for heating applications in water supply and drainage pipes in buildings.

The certified characteristics include:

  • Thermal performance of parallel heat-tracing resistors
    Insulation resistance
  • Power curves
  • Continuous monitoring to ensure compliance

To ensure compliance with the certification requirements, rigorous monitoring is implemented:

  • Production audits: conducted annually at manufacturing sites.
  • Laboratory tests: conducted annually by an independent and competent organization.

The frequency of these inspections can be adjusted based on the results obtained and compliance with the quality criteria defined in the QB 58 standard.

A strong commitment to quality from WORLDTRACE and ELTRACE

By obtaining this certification, ELTRACE and its WORLDTRACE production plant reaffirm their commitment to the quality and performance of their electrical heat tracing solutions. ELTRACE provides its customers with certified products that comply with the most demanding standards.

This recognition is an additional guarantee for our partners and customers who want to rely on reliable and high-performance products.
